wo har jumla adhura bolta hai
vo har jumla adhūrā boltā hai
phir us ke baa'd chehra boltā hai
vo taht-ul-lafz ho yā ho tarannum
ġhazal kis kī hai lahja boltā hai
hai aurat ik salīqe-mand ghar meñ
sajāvaT kā tarīqa boltā hai
jahannum naam likhvā legā apne
buzurgoñ se jo ūñchā boltā hai
ġhazal 'jāved' ne chheḌī hai jab se
jidhar dekho ujālā boltā hai
wo har jumla adhura bolta hai

sajawaT ka tariqa bolta hai
jahannum nam likhwa lega apne
buzurgon se jo uncha bolta hai
ghazal 'jawed' ne chheDi hai jab se
jidhar dekho ujala bolta hai
