yar bin ghar mein ajab sohbat hai
yaar bin ghar meñ ajab sohbat hai
dar-o-dīvār se ab sohbat hai
dil hamārā use kartā hai raat
ġhair se jo sar-e-shab sohbat hai
dard-e-dil us se jo ham ne na kahā
aisī hāsil huī kab sohbat hai
dahr meñ pās-e-nafas lāzim hai
shīsha-o-sañg ye sab sohbat hai
dast-e-āġhyār hai zer-e-sar-e-yār
aaj 'ummīd' kaDhab sohbat hai

dil hamara use karta hai raat
ghair se jo sar-e-shab sohbat hai
dard-e-dil us se jo hum ne na kaha
aisi hasil hui kab sohbat hai
dahr mein pas-e-nafas lazim hai
shisha-o-sang ye sab sohbat hai
dast-e-aghyar hai zer-e-sar-e-yar
aaj 'ummid' kaDhab sohbat hai
