ye terā ishq kab kā āshnā thā
kahāñ kā jaan ko merī dharā thā
vo saa.at kaun sī thī yā ilāhī
ki jis saa.at do-chār us se huā thā
maiñ kaash us vaqt āñhkeñ muuñd letā
ki merā dekhnā mujh par balā thā
maiñ apne haath apne dil ko khoyā
ḳhudāvandā maiñ kyuuñ āshiq huā thā
na thā us vaqt juz allāh koī
vale ye 'soz' pahlū meñ khaḌā thā
ye tera ishq kab ka aashna tha
kahan ka jaan ko meri dhara tha
wo saat kaun si thi ya ilahi
ki jis saat do-chaar us se hua tha
main kash us waqt aanhken mund leta
ki mera dekhna mujh par bala tha
main apne hath apne dil ko khoya
KHudawanda main kyun aashiq hua tha
na tha us waqt juz allah koi
wale ye 'soz' pahlu mein khaDa tha
