hamāre ḳhvāb muzayyan the kitne rangoñ se
uḌe haiñ rang faqat 'aks rah ga.e baaqī
koī basīr nahīñ hai jo in meñ dekh sake
hamāre kal kī na.ī rang rang tā'bīreñ
sahar ke nuur se jab rabt hī nahīñ koī
inhīñ dhuñdalkoñ meñ ab 'umr kāTnī hogī
hamārī jehd-e-musalsal bhī hech-māya thī
tamām 'umr muqaddar asīr-e-shab hī rahā
hamāre haath meñ bas kāsa-e-talab hī rahā
