maujoñ ke be-rahm kachoke sahtā
maiñ sāgar kī tah tak pahuñchā
paanī ke andhe sahrā meñ
saath ye āñkheñ detīñ bhī kyā
hāthoñ hī ko aañkh banāyā
pūñjī ik chhoTī sī sameTī
aur muTThiyāñ bhīñche
tharrāte anfās sañbhāle
uupar aaya
ḳhushī ḳhushī muTThiyoñ ko kholā
jin meñ thoḌe se kankar the
do ik ḳhālī siip

main sagar ki tah tak pahuncha
pani ke andhe sahra mein
sath ye aankhen detin bhi kya
hathon hi ko aankh banaya
punji ek chhoTi si sameTi
aur muTThiyan bhinche
tharraate anfas sanbhaale
