vo dar khulā mere ġham-kade kā
vo aa ga.e mere milne vaale
vo aa ga.ī shaam apnī rāhoñ meñ
farsh-e-afsurdagī bichhāne
vo aa ga.ī raat chāñd tāroñ ko
apnī āzurdagī sunāne
vo sub.h aa.ī damakte nashtar se
yaad ke zaḳhm ko manāne
vo dopahar aa.ii, āstīñ meñ
chhupā.e sho.aloñ ke tāziyāne
ye aa.e sab mere milne vaale
ki jin se din raat vāstā hai
pe kaun kab āyā, kab gayā hai
nigāh o dil ko ḳhabar kahāñ hai
ḳhayāl sū-e-vatan ravāñ hai
samundaroñ kī ayaal thāme
hazār vahm-o-gumāñ sambhāle
ka.ī tarah ke savāl thāme
