Alongside his academic journey, he has been actively involved in literary and cultural activities. Aftab is a young poet and translator who writes in both Urdu and Hindi, with his work also featured on Hindwi. Deeply engaged with literature, language, and human emotions, his poetry reflects everyday life, love, and philosophy while also exploring scientific and mathematical ideas.
He began his journey as a translator during his undergraduate studies through a course on Indian Literature in Translation. As part of this work, he translated Mahadevi Varma’s short story “Gillu” from Hindi into Urdu, which was published in the UGC CARE-listed magazine “Naya Daur.” His translation work also includes stories by the Palestinian journalist and writer Akram Haniyeh, as well as Indian authors such as Prof. G.
