Prof. Ameena Tahseen has been associated with the Department of Women Education at Maulana Azad National Urdu University (A Central University) since its inception in 2004. She has long experience of Teaching and Research Guidance in the discipline of  Women’s Studies.  Prof. Ameena Tahseen holds a Ph.D degree in Humanities (Urdu Literature) acquired from the University of Hyderabad. She has authored and edited many books and published numerous research papers in reputed International and National journals. She is actively contributing her research and critiques focusing on different themes of Women’s Studies in Urdu Language. Her area of interest brings discourse on Gender and Society, Feminist Criticism, Women’s Literature, and Muslim Women’s History. Her writings provide an opportunity to understand the aspects of Women Development and Empowerment and to analyze the Society with Gender perspective in Urdu language. She not only presented her research papers in International and National Seminars and Conferences, also organized many academic programs on a very significant topics of Women and Gender Studies. She developed Self learning Material on the course titled “Understanding Gender” for the four Year UG Distance program. Additionally, she has edited Volumes of Urdu workbooks for primary classes, which are included as syllabi in both Urdu and English medium schools in Telangana. Prof. Ameena Tahseen has also hold various administrative responsibilities, such as Head, Department of Women Education, Director of the Centre for Women’s Studies, Deputy Coordinator of Centre for Minorities Development, In Charge of the Day Care Centre, and Warden of the Girls Hostel in MANUU.  Beyond teaching and research guidance, she has conducted various Extension activities as Director of CWS, like Trainings, workshops, Extension lectures, Exhibitions, and Cultural programs aimed at Gender sensitization and raising awareness about Women’s rights and Empowerment within the University Campus and in Schools, Colleges, and Community Centers across Hyderabad city. She is also associated with Academic and Professional Bodies and also involved with various literary, Educational, and social organizations working towards the Empowerment of Women. Prof. Ameena Tahseen has received numerous accolades, including “Literary Awards” for research and criticism for her books from the Telangana State Urdu Academy. She also received the “Best Teacher Award” from the Department of Minority Affairs, Government of Andhra Pradesh, and the “Quratul Ain Hyder Award” for her contributions in Research and Criticism, from the Department of Urdu, University of Madras. In addition to these several literary and social organizations have honored her with the titles “Pride of Performance, Faqr-E-Niswaan , Mohd Ali Jowhar Award, and the “Riyasati Alambardar-E-Urdu Award” for her contributions.
