Muhammad Shafeeq was born on 21 December 1942, in Preet Nagar, Amritsar. In the literary world, he is popularly known as Shafeeq Saleemi, where Shafeeq is his pen name. He is a graduate of Commerce having keen interest in poetry since his childhood. He writes poetry in both, Punjabi and Urdu languages. He had been an employee of Garments Corporation and other organizations. He lived in Lahore for quite some time and has moved abroad now. Tamazat is the name of the collection of his poetry.
