ab kahen kis se bewafa hai sham
ab kaheñ kis se bevafā hai shaam
chāñd niklā hai lāpata hai shaam
ek dahlīz par jalā hai diip
ek dīvār par likhā hai shaam
shaam ko aarzū hai āñkhoñ kī
āj-kal kaun dekhtā hai shaam
un kī āñkhoñ meñ ek manzar hai
merī āñkhoñ meñ silsila hai shaam
mujh ko mahsūs ho rahā hai kyoñ
chāñd mahbūb dilrubā hai shaam
ab kahen kis se bewafa hai sham
chand nikla hai lapata hai sham
ek dahliz par jala hai dip
ek diwar par likha hai sham
sham ko aarzu hai aankhon ki
aaj-kal kaun dekhta hai sham
un ki aankhon mein ek manzar hai
meri aankhon mein silsila hai sham
mujh ko mahsus ho raha hai kyon
chand mahbub dilruba hai sham
