kya jaaniye ulfat ka hai kis se aaghaz
kyā jāniye ulfat kā hai kis se āġhāz
jaañ par nahīñ hotā koī us kā jāñ-bāz
hāsil nahīñ kuchh dost kī koshish se 'qalaq'
dushman ke sivā koī nahīñ mahram-e-rāz
kya jaaniye ulfat ka hai kis se aaghaz
jaan par nahin hota koi us ka jaan-baz
hasil nahin kuchh dost ki koshish se 'qalaq'
dushman ke siwa koi nahin mahram-e-raaz
