Encompassing, besieging;—a fortress, fort, castle; fortification, ramparts, bulwarks; enclosure, a fence:—ḥiṣār bāṅdhnā, To make an enclosure, to enclose;—to besiege:—ḥiṣār karnā (-kā), To encompass, lay siege (to), to besiege:—bālā-ḥiṣār, s.m. 'The lofty or elevated fort'; the citadel (of a fortress).
