A خصمḵẖaṣm, vulg. ḵẖaṣam (fr. خصم 'to contend,' &c.), s.m. An adversary, antagonist, an enemy;—ḵẖaṣam (used by the Persians and Indians in the sense of) master, owner; husband:—ḵẖaṣam-pīṭī, ḵẖaṣam-roʼī, s.f. 'Who has wept for her husband'; a woman who has lost her husband;—(used as a malediction) may your husband die:—ḵẖaṣam-wālī, s.f. A woman whose husband is alive.
