A زقومzaqqūm, vulg. zaqūm (v.n. fr. زقم 'to eat quickly,' &c.), s.m. An infernal tree (mentioned in the Qorʼān), the fruit of which is supposed to resemble the heads of devils and terrible serpents;—a prickly plant, cactus, Euphorbia antiquorum (?).
