A سند sanad (v.n. fr. سند 'to rest or lean upon'), s.f. Anything on which one leans or trusts; support, prop; reliance, trust; relation, connection; seal or signature (of a judge or magistrate, &c.); order, written authority; royal ordinance, mandate, or decree, any deed or grant, &c. from one in authority, patent, grant, document, warrant, charter, commission, appointment (under which another acts), credential, diploma; testimonial, certificate; authority, precedent, example, proof, voucher;—adj. Authentic, &c. (=sanadī, q.v.):—sanad-ě-ḵẖūn-bahā, s.f. A grant or deed conveying property from a person or family implicated in a murder, as a retaliatory fine, to the heirs of the murdered person:—sanad-ě-kār-guẕārī, s.f. Certificate of services:—sanad karnā, sanad gardānnā, v.t.
