شکار shikār

P شکار shikār [prob. shi = Zend uz or uś = S. उद्+kār, rt. Zend kar = S. कर् (कृ, कॄ); or Zend kareṭ = S. कर्त् (कृत)], s.m. Hunting, the chase; prey, game; plunder, booty, pillage, spoil;—perquisites:—shikār-afgan, s.m. Game-killer:—shikār-bāz, s.m. A sportsman:—shikār-band, s.m. Cords, &c. for tying game in (or to fasten it to the saddle):—shikār-pesha, adj. & s.m. Whose trade or business is hunting;—a professional hunter:—shikār-farebī, s.f.
