A صف ṣaff, vulg. ṣaf (inf. n. of صفّ 'to set or place in a row,' &c.), s.f. A rank, row, line, file, series, order; a company of men standing in a rank, &c.;—a long mat:—ṣaf-ārā, adj. & s.m.
