A قابل qābil (act. part. of قبل 'to receive; to admit'; &c.), part. adj. & s.m. Receiving, taking; admitting (of, -ke), capable (of); sufficient (for); possible, practicable; liable (to); capable, able, clever, skilful, competent, fit, qualified; deserving, worthy;—a fit or competent person, an able man, &c.;—qābil-ě-adā, adj. Able to pay, solvent;—payable (a bill, &c.); due, owing; liable for payment:—qābiluʼl-iwā, adj. Capable of being received; payable (a bill of exchange):—qābil-ě-bāz-purs, adj. Answerable, responsible, accountable:—qābil karnā (-ko), To make clever, or skilful, or capable, &c.:—qābil honā or ho-jānā (-ke), To be or become fit (for); to be competent, or skilled, &c.; to be deserving (of), to deserve, merit, to be liable (to).
