A نادر nādir (act. part. of ندر 'to remain alone,' &c.), adj. Singular, rare, uncommon, unusual; wonderful; precious; exquisite; choice (cf. shāẕ-o-nādir):—nādir-shāh, Name of a king of Persia (who reigned from A.D. 1736 to A.D. 1747):—nādir-shāhī, adj. Of or relating to Nādir-shāh, or his conquests, or misrule;—s.f. The invasion of India by Nādir-shāh;—misrule as of Nādir-shāh:—nādir-gardī, s.f. Misrule, &c. (i.q. nādir-shāhī).
