H آٿا आटा āṭā [S. आर्द्र, Pr. अट्टं; cf. P. آرد], s.m. Flour, meal; anything reduced to the state of flour; powder, dust:—āṭā karnā, v.t. To grind, pound, reduce to powder:—āṭā gīlā karnā, To moisten and leaven flour, to form dough; to raise the hopes (of, -) falsely, to feed with vain hopes, to cajole with false promises:—āṭā gīlā honā or ho-jānā, Flour to be wetted and formed into dough; flour to be over-watered so as to become less consistent than dough; to be plunged into difficulties or trouble; to be perplexed, or despondent, or miserable, &c.:—āṭā-māṭī honā, To be utterly destroyed or ruined:—āṭā-meṅ nūn, Lit. '(as much) salt (as is put) in flour (to savour it)'; very little, a pinch, a particle, a soupçon:—āṭā honā or ho-jānā, To become powder or dust; to be ground or crushed to powder; to be worn out; to become worm-eaten, to be rotten, to crumble away.

A deed of gift; a grant.
