P بيعت baiʻat (for A. بيعة), s.f. The act of promising or swearing allegiance and obedience; submission, obedience, allegiance, homage, fealty; initiation as a disciple of a saint or religious guide:—baiʻat karnā (-kī), To take the oath of allegiance, &c.; to become a disciple of some saint.
