P برباد bar-bād, adj. Lit. 'On or to the wind'; given to the wind, thrown or cast away, wasted, misapplied, squandered; laid waste, destroyed, ruined, undone; ravaged, plundered, despoiled; unsuccessful, abortive;—bar-bād jānā, v.n. To be ruined, lost, &c.=bar-bād honā, q.v.:—bar-bād karnā, v.t. To give to the winds, cast or throw away, lose, waste, squander, dissipate, misapply; to lay waste, ruin, destroy, ravage, plunder, &c.—bar-bād honā or ho-jānā, v.n. To be ruined, lost, destroyed, thrown away, wasted, squandered, dissipated, laid waste, &c.
