P بہانه bahāna, s.m. Excuse, pretext, plea, pretence; shift, evasion, subterfuge, contrivance, feint, blind; affectation:—bahāna-jo, adj. s.m. Seeking an excuse or pretext;—one who seeks an excuse, &c.:—bahānā-sāz, s.m. One who makes excuses; pretender, shammer, impostor:—bahāna karnā, v.n. To make an excuse; to pretend, sham, feign; to evade, shuffle.

To set afloat or adrift; to waste, squander, impoverish, ruin, destroy, demolish; to deprive of felicity or fortune.
