H چڙهتا चढ़ता ćaṛhtā (imperf part. of ćaṛhnā), adj. (f. -ī) & s.m. Ascending, rising, increasing, waxing (as the moon), advancing, progressing, progressive, growing; increasing in speed, accelerated; superior (to, -se), better, excelling;—rise or increase (of price, &c., see ćaṛhtī); settlement of revenue at a progressively increasing rate:—ćaṛhtā bhāʼo, s.m. A rise, or an advance, in price:—ćaṛhtā paṭṭā, s.m. A lease for a term of years at a progressively increasing rent:—ćaṛhtī kalā, s.f. Advancement, improvement:—ćaṛhtā honā, v.n. To be rising, &c.; to be superior (to, -se), be better (than), to excel.
