ڐونڐا डूंडा ḍūṅḍā see ṭund, ṭunḍā; ṭūnḍī

H ڐونڐا डूंडा ḍūṅḍā (see ṭund, ṭunḍā; ṭūnḍī), s.m. A bullock with one horn, or with broken or crumpled horns.

(=ḍanṭhā, ḍaṅṭhī, q.v.), the tube of the corolla of the Nyctanthes arbortristis (used for dyeing);—the penis, yard;—an ear-ring affixed to the border of the ear;—a foot-path, path;—a line, stripe, &c. (see ḍanḍīr):—ḍanḍī-dār, s.m. Holder of the beam (of scales), weighman:—ḍanḍī mārnā (-kī), To press down the weight arm of a balance by a twist of the finger, to give short weight.

ڐنڐا डण्डा ḍanḍā

H ڐنڐا डण्डा ḍanḍā [Prk. डंडओ; S. दण्डकः], s.m. A staff, club, bat, ensign-staff, pole, bar, beam (of a pair of scales);—the upper arm (=ḍanḍ);—a wall enclosing a house;—a collector of market-dues (=ḍanḍiyā):—ḍanḍe bajāte phirnā, To wander about idling:—ḍanḍe bajānā, To play on sticks:—ḍanḍā-ḍolī karnā, v.t. To lift one up by the arms and legs (representing a ḍolī with its pole):—ḍanḍā-zanī, s.f. A mode of torture (it consists in fastening a man's arms behind his back with a cord, which is twisted round by means of a stick so as to increase the tension until the pain inflicted becomes intolerable):—ḍanḍā-sā, adj. (f. -ī), Like a stick; cylindrical; (in Bot.) terete:—ḍanḍā khaiṅćnā, To build a wall (round):—ḍanḍe-munḍe-ke bal-se, adv.=ḍanḍ-munḍ-ke bal-se, q.v.s.v. ḍanḍ.
