P درود darūd, darod, durod [v.n. of darūdan = darīdan; rt. Zend dar = S. dar, fr. dr̤ī], s.f.(?), Wood, timber; plank:—darod-kār or darūd-gar, s.m. A carpenter:—darod-kārī or darūd-garī, s.f. The business of a carpenter; carpentry:—darūd-garī kār-ě-bozna nīst, proverb, 'Carpentry is not the business of a monkey' (=jis-kā kām usī-ko ćhāje, &c.; see s.v. ṭheṅgā, and ćhājnā).
