P فرود farod, or firod [Pārsī frôt; Pehl. frôt; prob. fr. Zend frā or fra = S. प्र; cf. Zend pāreñtare], s.m. Descending, descent; alighting, stopping;—the arrival and deposit of goods within certain defined limits;—prep. & adv. Down, below, beneath (=faro):—farod ānā, v.n. To come down, to descend, to alight:—farod-gāh, s.f. Place of alighting; halting-place, camping-ground.

A فريد farīd (v.n. fr. فرد; see fard), s.m. (orig.) 'Incomparable'; 'a precious or highly-esteemed gem or pearl'; name of a saint (called also farīd shakar-ganj):—farīd-būṭī, s.f. The medicinal herb Menispermum hirsutum, or Cocculus villosus.
