'A raid, foray'; plunder, pillage, rapine, havoc, devastation:—g̠ārat jānā, v.n. To be plundered, be spoiled, be marred, be destroyed or ruined:—g̠ārat-g̠ol, s.m. Sudden loss or destruction;—adj. Suddenly or unexpectedly lost;—g̠ārat-g̠ol honā or ho-jānā, To be suddenly or unexpectedly lost; to be swept away, to be ruined or destroyed, to be annihilated; to disappear:—g̠ārat karnā, v.t. To plunder, spoil, ravage, lay waste, ruin, destroy:—g̠ārat-gar, s.m. A plunderer; an oppressor:—g̠ārat-garī, s.f.
