H گهساو घिसाव ghisāʼo, s.m. = H گهساوٿ घिसावट ghisāwaṭ, s.f. [ghisā(nā) + āʼo = Prk. एअव्वं=S. (इ)तव्यं;—and ˚āwaṭ = Prk. एअव्वअट्टं=S. (इ)तव्य+क+त्वं], Rubbing; friction; attrition; abrasion.

To go rubbing along; to move with friction or rubbing;—to rub along; to drag along;—to last long (as shoes, &c.):—ghis lagānā (-kī), To rub (particularly, to rub the forehead of one who has a headache with a cowrie, in order to afford relief):—ghis lagāne-ko na honā, 'To be not enough for a rub'; (fig.) to be scarce:—ghissā lagnā (-ko), To be rubbed or abraded:—ghissā-mīrī, s.f. A boys' game (rubbing one string upon another to see which will first be worn through).
