گنا गिना ginā, or गना ganā

H گنا गिना ginā, or गना ganā [perf. part. of ginnā, &c.;—and=Prk. गणिअओ; S. गणित+कः, rt. गण्], part. adj. (f. -ī), Numbered, counted, reckoned, &c. (see ginnā):—ginā-gināyā (f. ginī-gināʼī), part. adj. Ready counted:—ginī boṭī māpā (or napā) shorbā, prov. 'Counted (or a limited number of) lumps of meat (necessitate) a measured supply of soup' (applied to one who is exact in his expenses to a degree of penury; and to one whose income is hardly equal to his expenditure);—living from hand to mouth;—cut your coat according to your cloth.

گني गनी ganī

H گني गनी ganī [prob. corr. fr. S. गोणी], s.f. 'Gunny,' a strong coarse kind of sacking made from the fibres of Corchorus olitorius, and of C. capsularis.

غنا g̠anā inf. n. of غنی 'to be or become free from want,' c.

A غنا g̠anā (inf. n. of غنی 'to be or become free from want,' &c.), s.f. Freedom from need or want; competence, sufficiency; richness, wealthiness; riches, wealth;—content.

P گانه gāna [prob. fr. Zend gaona = S. गुण], adj. affix, Fold (it is affixed to numerals, and is often redundant, e.g. panj-gāna, 'five-fold'; 'five').

گونه gūna

P گونه gūna [Pehl. gūn; Zend gaona; S. गुण], s.m. Colour; kind, sort, species; form, figure, fashion; mode, manner:—gūna, or yak-gūna, adj. Single, simple;—peculiar;—a little (syn. thorā-sā):—du-gūna, adj. Two-fold, double (cf. H. guṇā).
