Whiteness; clearnness, brightness;—a white mark, a star, or blaze on the forehead of a horse;—a speckled, or iron-grey, or roan horse;—the first, or commencement (of the month, &c.), the night in which the new moon is seen, the first day of the moon, calends;—the first appearance or dawn of day, morning or its splendour;—the face, aspect, forehead, front (of a man);—the first, the best, or the chiefest (of anything);—g̠urra batānā, or g̠urra denā (-ko), To put (one) off to the (next) new moon; to put off, to shuffle with, to get rid of, &c.; to pass over or by (syn. ṭāl-denā).
