A هارون hārūn (Heb. ), prop. n. Aaron (brother of Moses):—hārūnaʼr-rashīd, or hārūn-rashīd, The fifth caliph (ḵẖalīfa) of the house of 'Abbās, and twenty-fourth from Muḥammad (he reigned from A.D. 786 to 808).
