Wisdom; knowledge, science; philosphy;—mystery; miracle;—cleverness, skill, art, contrivance, ingenuity, device, address; management, frugality, economy;—the functions of a physician:—ḥikmat-se, adv. Skilfully; with management, prudently, &c.:—ḥikmat-ě-ʻamalī, s.f. Practical skill; judicious management, tact, savoir faire:—ḥikmat karnā, To exercise wisdom or skill, &c.; to contrive, scheme, plot;—to practise physic.
