H هوك हूक hūk [prob. fr. S. हू+कृ; see hūknā], s.f. Shooting pain, twitch, stitch; pain, ache (lit. 'that causes one to cry out hū, 'oh!');—a cry of pain:—a sob:—hūk-hūk-kar (or huk-huk-kar) ronā, To sob and cry; to weep with repeated bursts and sobs.
