P حقه ḥuqqa (for A. حقة ḥuqqat, fem.; fr. حقّ), s.m. A casket, a small box, a small cocoanut used as a box; (in India) the hookah or pipe and its apparatus by which tobacco is smoked through water;—a sort of rocket (used in war), a grenade or bomb:—ḥuqqa-bāz, vulg. ḥuqqe-bāz, s.m. A juggler;—a grenadier;—a great smoker of the ḥuqqā:—ḥuqqa-bardār, s.m. The servant whose business it is to attend to the ḥuqqa:—ḥuqqa bharnā, To prepare the ḥuqqa, fill the ćilam, q.v.:—ḥuqqa-pānī, s.m. 'Smoking and drinking'; social intercourse:—ḥuqqa-pānī band karnā (kisī-kā), To stop smoking and drinking with (one), to put (one) out of caste, to excommunicate (one):—ḥuqqa-pīnā, To smoke the ḥuqqa:—ḥuqqa-tāza karnā, To change the water of the ḥuqqa:—ḥuqqe-kā pānī, s.m. The water of a ḥuqqa-bottom (which acquires a foul smell after the ḥuqqa has been smoked):—ḥuqqe-kā dhatiyā or rasiyā, s.m. A great smoker of the ḥuqqa.
