A اختيار iḵẖtiyār [inf. n. viii of خير 'to be possessed of ḵẖair or good], s.m. Choice, election; preference; option, will, pleasure, discretion; disposal, management, control, power, authority; right; privilege; liberty; office, official position or power, jurisdiction; rule, sway:—iḵẖtiyār i-ibtidāʼī, Primary jurisdiction:—iḵẖtiyār-i-āmad o raft, Right of way:—iḵẖtiyār-i-jaiz, Legal power or right; lawful authority:—iḵẖtiyār rakhnā, v.n. To have or hold a right or title (to); to have the power; to be at liberty, to be privileged, authorized, &c.; to have it in (one's) power, to be able:—iḵẖtiyār-sarsarī, Summary power or jurisdiction:—iḵẖtiyār-se, adv.
