آنسو आंसू āṅsū
H آنسو आंसू āṅsū [S. अश्रु+क; Prk. अंसुकं], s.m. Tear, tears:—āṅsū ānā, v.n. lit. 'Tears to come'; to have tears in the eyes, to weep:—āṅsū bahānā, To make tears flow; to shed tears; to pretend to weep:—āṅsū bhar-lānā, To have the eyes filled with tears, to weep:—āṅsū bahnā, āṅsū ṭapak-paṛnā, v.n. lit. 'Tears to flow, or to drop'; to weep:—āṅsū-pućhnā or pućh-jānā, v.n. To have (one's) tears wiped away; to be comforted or soothed:—āṅsū poṅćhnā (-ke), To wipe away the tears (of), dry (one's) tears; to console, comfort, soothe:—āṅsū pī-jānā, To swallow (one's) tears, suppress (one's) tears:—āṅsū-ḍhāl, āṅsū ḍhalak, s.f. Running or watering of the eyes (a disease in horses, supposed to arise from a coil of hair in the outer corner of the eye):—āṅsū ḍhalkānā = āṅsū bahānā, q.v.:—āṅsū-se muṅh dhonā, lit. 'To wash the face with tears'; to shed tears copiously=āṭh āṭh āṅsū ronā, q.v.s.v. āṭh.
