H جهڙنا झड़ना jhaṛnā (fr. the trans. jhāṛnā, q.v.), v.n. To be swept, be swept off, be swept clean; to be beaten or dusted (as clothes, carpets, &c.).

H جهڙنا झड़ना jhaṛnā [jhaṛ˚ = Prk. झड(इ) for छड(इ)=S. शद(ति), rt. शद्], v.n. To drop, fall, fall off (as fruit from a tree, hair from an animal, &c.); to be shed; to be poured; to be discharged (as a volley, or semen, &c.); to be shaken (as a cloth, &c.); to be winnowed, be sifted; to shake; to be sounded or played (as the naubat); to remain over, to be saved:—jhaṛ-jānā, v.n. (intens.) To fall off, to drop off, to wither, to fade.
