H جوکهم जोखिम jokhim, जोखम jokham [S. योग+क्षेमं], s.f. orig. 'Security, secure possession' (of property, &c.); the charge for securing property (from accidents), insurance (syn. bīmā); property, substance, valuables (as jewels, money, &c.); an achievement, enterprise, venture, a hazardous undertaking or business; risk, hazard; the thing risked or put to hazard; jeopardy, peril, danger, fear; loss, injury (in any business or undertaking):—jokhim uṭhānā, v.n. To run the risk (of, -kī), to venture, risk, hazard; to suffer loss:—jokhim-kā, adj. (f. -kī), Risky, venturesome, hazardous, dangerous:—jokhim-meṅ paṛnā, v.n. To run a risk; to be placed in jeopardy, to fall into danger:—jokhim-meṅ ḍālnā, v.t. To risk; to place in jeopardy, to endanger.
