جذام juẕām fr. جذم 'to cut off'

A جذام juẕām (fr. جذم 'to cut off'), s.m. A species of leprosy (so called because it causes the flesh to fall off, or because the fingers or toes drop off):—juẕām-ḵẖāna, s.m. A lazaretto.

A جازم jāzim (act. part. of جزم), adj. 'Cutting off,' rendering quiescent (the final letter of a word).
