P کوتاهي kotāhī [kotāh, q.v.+ī = Zend i = S. इ], s.f. Smallness, shortness; brevity; deficiency, failure, lack, want (syn. kamī, q.v.); narrowness; littleness, meanness:—kotāhī karnā (-meṅ), To fail, fall short (of), be lacking (in), &c. (see kamī karnā).

H کاٿهي काठी kāṭhī [Prk. कट्ठिआ; S. काष्ठ+इका], s.f. Wood, timber;—scabbard, sheath, case;—body, frame; figure, shape, appearance, person;—an Indian saddle:—kāṭhī dharnā or kāṭhī kasnā (-par), To place the saddle (on a horse), to saddle:—kāṭhī-kaswaiyā, s.m. One who saddles (a horse).

H کوٿهي कोठी koṭhī [Prk. कोट्ठिआ; S. कोष्ठ+इका], s.f. A granary, a barn; a large vessel of unbaked earth, or a large oblong bamboo basket (in which grain is kept), a bin, chest; a storehouse; warehouse; a factory; a treasury; banking-house, bank; a mercantile house or firm; a house built of brick or stone, mansion, dwelling, residence; a chamber, compartment, cell (of the body, &c.); the womb; hold or capacity (of a ship, or cart, &c.); chamber (of a gun, or a pipe, &c.); ferule or mounting (at the end of a scabbard); a circular piece of wood placed at the bottom of a well (to prevent the sand from moving, or as a foundation for the masonry lining), the inside shaft (of a well), a curb:—koṭhī baiṭhnā or baiṭh-jānā, A house to fall in; a mercantile house, or a bank, to fail; the shaft (of a well) to be fixed in its place:—koṭhī karnā, or koṭhī kholnā. To set up or start a factory,

or a mercantile business; to open a bank:—koṭhī galānā, To sink a shaft, or a curb (in a well):—koṭhī-wāl, s.m. A warehouse keeper; a wholesale merchant; a banker.
