A محض maḥẓ (inf. n. of محض 'to possess pure milk, or milk unmixed with water,' &c.), adj. & adv. Pure, unmixed, unalloyed; only, mere, simple, sheer, absolute, entire;—purely; merely; solely, entirely, utterly, absolutely, quite:—maḥẓ dast-ḵẖat̤, s.m. 'Mere signature,' a blank endorsement:—maḥẓ dastḵẖat̤ karnā (-par), To put nothing but the signature (on); to endorse in blank; to give carte blanche:—maḥẓ g̠alat̤, adj. Quite wrong:—maḥẓ g̠air-mumkin, adj. Absolutely impossible:—maḥẓ fiqra-bāzī, A mere playing with words; sheer device or trickery:—maḥẓ qaid, s.f. Simple imprisonment:—maḥẓ nā-ćīz, s.f.
