H مٿهي मुट्ठी muṭṭhī, or मुट्ठिआ muṭhī [Prk. मुट्ठिआ; S. मुष्टिका], s.f. The fist; hand; grasp (of the hand), clutch, gripe;—a handful; a handful of corn (formerly taken from every field and given as a charity to the poor);—a hand (measure, equal to four fingers);—the wrist;—the fetlock-joint (in a horse);—a small varnished stick given to a sucking child to be used as the coral with us (syn. maṭkī, q.v.):—muṭṭhī-bāṅdhnā, To close the fist:—muṭṭhī-bhar, or muṭhī-bhar, A handful:—muṭṭhī garm karnā (-kī), 'To warm the fist or hand' (of), to give a bribe (to), to bribe:—muṭṭhī-meṅ, In the fist (of), into the hand (of, -kī); in the clutches (of), under the power (of):—muṭṭhi-yāṅ bharnā, 'To fill the fists'; to knead the limbs, to shampoo:—bandhī muṭṭhī, s.f. The closed fist;—a bundle (of sticks, &c.); a compact body.

H مٿها मट्ठा maṭṭhā, or मठा maṭhā [Prk. मट्ठअं; S. मृष्ट+कं; or S. मथित+कं], s.m. Butter-milk; 'tyre' with an admixture of water; (dialec.) milk coagulated with its butter in it and churned;—the coagulum or thick residue of curds.
