H ندان निदान nidān [S. निदानं, rt. dā with ni], s.m. & f. A first or original cause, a primary or remote cause; original form, essence;—the cause of a disease; ascertaining the causes of disease; study of symptoms to trace the causes, pathology;—end, termination; state of extremity;—adv.
