Leaf; leaves; hemp-leaves (of which an intoxicating potion is made); a leaf or thin plate (of metal); a hem; a share (=paṭṭī):—pattī jhāṛnā (-kī), To beat off the leaves (of trees):—pattī jhaṛnā, v.n. A board on which Hindūs sit whilst eating their meals or performing religious ceremonies; a fuller's board, board, table; seat; a lock of hair, ringlet, curl; the collar of a horse, or of a dog, &c.; girth of a horse; shoulder-strap and badge (of a peon, &c.); gold or silver threads of an old native shoe; an ornament (worn by women as an appendage to the bālī); an ornament for the forehead, frontlet; a deed (com. a title-deed to land), a deed of lease; a code or book of regulations for the guidance of rent-collectors:—paṭṭā utārnā (-kā), To take off the strap and badge, to dismiss from service:—paṭṭā-pher, s.m.
