پياده piyāda S. पदाति

P پياده piyāda (S. पदाति), s.m. One on foot, footman; foot-soldier; a peon; a pawn (at chess):—piyāda-pā (or pā-piyāda), vulg. piyāde, payāde, adv. On foot, afoot (=paidal; pairoṅ):—piyāda-pāʼī, s.f. The being on foot; travelling on foot:—piyāda-ě-maḥāṣil, s.m. A peon placed over defaulters (at their charge) to compel them to pay up arrears.
