شادي shādī
P شادي shādī [Pārsī sāṭ; old P. shiyāti; Pehl. shātish; Zend shāiti, fr. shā; see shād], s.f. Pleasure, delight, joy, rejoicing, festivity; marriage; a wedding; a marriage-feast:—shādī karnā, To rejoice; to make a feast, to feast; to perform a religious ceremony previous to entering a new house;—to marry:—shādī karnā or kardenā (-kī), To get (a boy, or girl) married (to, -se):—shādī kar-ḍālnā (-kī), To marry (a child, to);—to dispose (of,—a horse, &c.):—shādī-marg, s.f. Death from joy; dying easily, an easy death:—shādī honā, v.n. To be married.
ساڙي साड़ी sāṛī
H ساڙي साड़ी sāṛī [Prk. साडी; S. शाटी], s.f. A kind of dress worn by Hindū women, a long piece of cloth wrapped round the body and passed over the head (in some parts of India it is worn in the manner of a lungī, q.v.).
