Prostration (in prayer, &c.); bowing so as to touch the ground with the forehead in adoration (esp. to God), adoration:—sijda-gah, s.f. Place of adoration, mosque, temple, &c.;—a board upon which Shīʻas rest the forehead in the act of prostration.
