صلاة ṣalāt
A صلاة ṣalāt = P صلات ṣalāt (quasi-inf. n. of صلّي 'to pray,' ii of صلو), s.f. Prayer, supplication (esp. one of the five stated prayers enjoined on good Mohammadans in the course of the twenty-four hours);—invocation of (God's) blessing (on), a blessing, benediction;—the Fātiḥa or opening chapter of the Qorʼān.
