A سمت samt, vulg. simt (inf. n. of سمت 'to take a course or way'), s.f. Course, road, way, path; part, side, quarter, bearing, direction;—postpn. In the direction (of, -kī), towards:—samtuʼr-rās, s.f. The vertical point in the heavens, the zenith:—samtuʼl-qadam, s.m. The nadir.
